Marvin Frazier

Marvin Frazier, 79, of Fordyce died Thursday June 13, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. Born July 8, 1933 in Dallas County, he was a son of the late Tommie Frazier and Bethunia Green Frazier. He was retired from the U.S. Army and Air Force. He attended Ouachita Baptist University, Henderson State University, and received his Master's degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Mr. Frazier began his career at Fordyce High School as a history teacher and retired as superintendent at Greenwood Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Fordyce, where he served as deacon and was active in the Keenagers. He served on the Dallas County Hospital Board of Governors for many years and also on the Dallas County Auxiliary. He was a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers and served as President of the Oakland Cemetery Association. He also served on the Citizen's Committee for the relocation of refugees at Fort Chaffee. Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife, Frances Frazier of Fordyce; son Tom Rob Frazier of Maumelle; two daughters, Annette Frazier of Little Rock, Kimberly Frazier Baker and her husband, Stan of Fayetteville; and brother, Charles Frazier and his wife, Jean of Fordyce. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Dallas County Medical Center Auxiliary, 300 N.
