Madean "Dumpy" Rickard, age 78, of Bryant died Thursday June 13, 2013. She was born October 1, 1934 in Bauxite to Dick and Ona Daugherty. She was a 1952 graduate of Bauxite High School and Capitol City Business College. She had worked for Saline County Social Services and Saline County Tax Collector. Madean was a member of East Smith Street Church of Christ. She was given the nickname "Dumpy" and was known by her family and many friends by this name. Madean was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, sister, Annette Harris, step-son, Monte Ray Rickard and son-in-law, Ron Crawley; She is survived by her husband, Cecil Rickard, three daughters, Cindy Crawley, of Bryant; Melinda Murtha, of Conway; and Kristy Cordell (Joel), of Benton; four grandchildren, Aaron Crawley (Erin), of Fayetteville; Ashli Fleming (Wade), of Bryant; and Allison and Amanda Cordell, of Benton; four great-grandchildren, two step-sons, Ronnie and Donnie (Sherry) Rickard, of Jonesboro and eight step-grandchildren, two sisters, Bartha Wise of Bryant, Martha Daugherty of Garland, Texas, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Monday with Jack Avaritt officiating. Burial will follow at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
