Bradley Warren Tarkington

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at First United Methodist Church Chapel; 304 South Commerce Avenue; Russellville, Ark. 72801, for Bradley Warren Tarkington, 36, of Elko, Nev., who passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013. Rev. Roy Smith will officiate. Disposition of the cremains will be at later date at a private service for the family. Mr. Tarkington was born in Little Rock, Ark. on Nov. 16, 1976. He attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and served in the U.S. Navy and on the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt immediately following Sept. 11, 2001. He was later stationed in Atsugi, Japan for two years prior to receiving an honorable discharge in 2007. He was employed by Barrick Goldstrike of Elko, Nev. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Holly Black-Tarkington, Elko; his mother, Ellen C. Tarkington, Russellville, Ark.; his father, Dennis W. Tarkington, Gadsden, Ala.; his grandparents, Ruby O. Carey, Pine Bluff, Ark., and Mr. and Mrs. Louis W. Tarkington, Little Rock, Ark. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Argue Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Michael E. Rankin, all of Little Rock; and cousins, Jay, Krissy, and Dylan Rankin, Little Rock; Todd Rankin, New York City; Sarah Argue, Little Rock; and Emily, Jeff and Charlotte Stotts, Little Rock. An Educational Fund for Joshua Walker Tarkington has been established at Liberty Bank of Arkansas, Attn: Trust Department, 401 N. Arkansas Ave., Russellville, Ark. 72801.
