James N. Goff

James N. Goff, 82, died Sunday, June 16, at his home in Heber Springs with his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret, at his side. Jim, who was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Quitman, Arkansas, was a caring husband, father, grandfather and friend who enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and spending time with his family. He especially loved watching his grandson play baseball. Jim spent more than 30 years delivering freight for Plant Truck Line in Heber Springs and was a member of Howard General Baptist Church in Quitman. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Goff, his mother, Dulcie Goff, and a sister, Maxine Morgan. Jim is survived by his wife Margaret (McGehee) Goff of Heber Springs; son, Eddie Goff and his wife, Debbie, and son, Evan, all of Bee Branch; and son, Steven Goff of Sherwood. Other survivors include his brother Otis Goff of Quitman and sisters, Lou Eva Kennedy of Quitman; Jessie Stark of North Little Rock; Nina Norman of Atwater, Calif.; Barbara Dutra of Atwater, Calif.; and Sylvia Schmidt of Atwater, Calif. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs with burial at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs.
