Ruth Marie Curtis, age 82, was peacefully called Home on Sunday, June 16th 2013 surround by her family. Ruth was the daughter of Paul and Rowena Diederich who pre-deceased her as well as her sister, Margaret Thomas and her husband, Graydus Curtis and her step grandson, Denny Ezell. Ruth is survived by her two children, Shirley Palmer (Clint) and Gerald Curtis (Barbara) along with two granddaughters, Ciara Marie Curtis and Kami Lynn Curtis, a step son, Dustin Ezell, great-grandchildren, Gabby, Brooklyn, Denver, Sam, and Norah, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was a lifelong homemaker and amazing caretaker for her family. She was famous for her cooking and provided many, many meals for family and church potlucks. She loved taking care of her home and her yard and she loved flowers. One of her favorite hobbies was fishing. She had a wonderful dry sense of humor and could make everyone laugh with her stories. She was passionate about her Razorback basketball and football teams and she could remember statistics better than anyone. She loved the games and never missed one. She loved listening to Paul Eells on the radio. She was a big fan of southern gospel music and was blessed to have so many musicians in the family. Mom was well loved and loved well and we rejoice in her presence and memories in our life. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June18, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
