Charles E. "Buddy" Taylor, 79, a resident of Sheridan, formerly of Pine Bluff passed away June 17, 2013. He was born October 18, 1933 to the late L.C. Taylor and Rilza Owens Taylor of Grapevine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sudie Taylor Rodgers. He was raised in Grapevine and graduated from Grapevine High School. He attended Flurr Business School in Pine Bluff. He worked at Southern Electric as a motor winder and advanced to shop foreman. He served two years in North Carolina as a paratrooper during the Korean conflict. He was an electrician at Ben Pearson Mfg. Company before joining International Paper Mill, where he retired with 35 years of service. He also owned and operated Charles Taylor RV Sales and Service in Pine Bluff and later in Sheridan. He was a member of Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church in Grapevine but attended New Life Fellowship in Sheridan. He is survived by his wife, Lavell Wilson Taylor of 56 years, two daughters, Teresa Taylor Grace of Little Rock, Dianna Taylor of Hensley, two granddaughters, Meagan Grace of Little Rock and Summer Taylor Malott of Sheridan and his most precious and beloved Daisy. Other survivors include two brothers, Shelby Taylor and Jimmy Taylor both of Sheridan and one sister, Joyce Hudspeth of White Hall. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Steve Cypert officiating. Burial will follow at Hedden Chapel Cemetery in Grapevine. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Tommy Wilson, Jimmy Doyle Wilson, David Wilson, Bill Wilson, Houston Taylor and David Heythaler. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (pancreaticcancerfoundation.com).
