Gary James Taylor, age 67, after a long spell of illness has made his final journey to be with The Lord on June 20th. Gary was born in Benton, Ark. on August 3, 1945 to parents, Joseph Taylor and Lona Chadwick. Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years; Norma Taylor of Benton, one son; Gary Todd Taylor and wife Carmen of Benton, two daughters; Tammy Justice and husband Andrew of Paron and Kelly Epperson and husband Jesse of Benton, his mother; Lona Chadwick of Benton, one brother; Clifton Taylor of Bryant, one sister; Barbara Cramer of Elgin, Ill., two grandchildren; Dallas and Morgan Justice of Paron, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends all who loved him and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by a son, Tim Taylor, father, Joseph M. Taylor, brothers, John "Rex" Taylor and David Williams. Gary was of the Pentecostal faith. Gary was an employee of Arkla for 13 years and became the owner of Gary's Detail Service of Benton for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his kids, loved God and his grandkids, and was an avid Razorback fan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 24th officiated by Rev. Loy Reese and Rev. Travis Smith. Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, Benton Chapel located at 322 N. Market in Benton. Interment to follow at the Fowler Cemetery in Paron, Ark. with pallbearers, Dallas Justice, Monfity Lawani, Mike Woodall, Eugene Sutton, Jason Gibson, and Dennis Burget assisting.
