Vicki Jane O'Connor-Davis

Vicki Jane O'Connor-Davis, 59, of North Little Rock, entered Heaven on June 22, 2013. She was born in Fort Smith on October 20, 1953 to Lester and Kathleen Campbell. She graduated from Little Rock Central High in 1970. She earned 66 credits at UALR in her pursuit of a degree in child psychology. In 1983 she founded Fulfill a Dream of Little Rock to grant dreams for Arkansas children with life threatening illnesses. From 1988-1997, she was founder and Executive Director of Arkansas Children's Dreams, a nonprofit organization of all volunteers, that granted 833 dreams in 14 years. She also raised donations for a Spring trip each year as well as an annual Christmas party for surviving patients and their siblings. She also worked on the committee to bring 911 service to Arkansas. Her awards include,1986-American Institute for Public Service Jefferson Award, 1987-Arkansas Community Service Award from KARK-TV, 1990-Golden Rule Award from JC Penney, Hometown Hero Award from Miller Beer and State of Arkansas, 1992- 752nd Daily Point of Light from President George H. Bush, 1994-1995 Service to Mankind Award from NLR Sertoma Club, 1997-Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Citizen from Gov. Mike Huckabee. Surviving family includes her loving husband, Keith Davis;Sons; Patrick, Michael, and Andrew O'Connor, Jeffery and Gregory Davis. Grandchildren; Nate, Macayle, Wesley, and Rowan. Siblings: Linda Rainwater, Jim Campbell, and Charlotte Akridge. She will be missed by the thousands of lives she touched with her love and laughter. She claimed her faith in God has been her strength throughout life. She has always believed that when one person reaches out to help others, the receivers will, in turn, find others in need, assisting them. And that is her legacy. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, June 30th at 3 p.m., Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 10325 W 36th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204.
