Helen L. Reynolds, 87, entered heaven June 22, 2013. She was born on April 30, 1926, in Madison, Wisconsin, where her father was a banker and her mother a home economist. Helen met R C Reynolds while he was stationed in Madison with the US Navy and they were married on June 10, 1944. After completion of his military service they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where they raised Susan and Stephen. They were faithful Christians who helped found the Little Rock Bible Church. Helen was involved in their children's education serving as the President of the PTA. Helen volunteered at Baptist Health in Little Rock and was elected President of the Volunteers. She later served on the staff of Baptist Health as the Director of Volunteers, Director of Personnel and Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board. After 40 years of service she retired to care for her mother and continued her volunteer service at Baptist Health and the Bible Church. Through the years Helen and RC nurtured many foreign missionaries, Little Rock Air Force base servicemen and Wycliffe Bible Translators. Helen and RC relocated to Cordova, Tennessee in 1994 and joined Trinity Baptist Church where they helped create a place to learn about Jesus and mature as Christians. Helen devoted herself again to volunteer service through the Baptist Trinity Home Care and Hospice in the Metro Memphis area. Trained as a hospice volunteer she frequently ministered to those experiencing the final chapter of their lives. She also supported Baptist Trinity's Camp Good Grief, a camp founded by Baptist Memorial Health Care in 1998 to help children deal with grief. The children, volunteers and staff were inspired by "Grandma Helen's" energy, love and encouragement. A favorite memory was when "Grandma Helen" ascended a 50 foot ladder to the zip-line. After riding the length of the zip-line, she was greeted by the happy screams of children who realized that they too could overcome obstacles. Helen and RC loved life together and loved their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Her six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren enjoyed visiting "GiGi's" home because she always stocked a drawer with special surprises. She was predeceased by her parents Orren and Vera Lovell and her loving husband of 57 years, RC Reynolds. Helen's daughter Susan Sanford and husband Reverend Steve Sanford live in McRae, Arkansas, while son Stephen and wife Ann Reynolds live in Memphis. Both couples benefitted from her wisdom, encouragement and prayers. Her sister Martha Long Herren lives in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas and brother Clark Lovell lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Helen enjoyed living at her home in Cordova, the Villages of Germantown, Mary Galloway Home and the Baptist Trinity Hospice House. Instead of flowers, expressions of love can be sent to the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee or Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee. The graveside service will occur on Friday, June 28 at 1 p.m. at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas, 7401 Highway 5 N., and a visitation at 2 p.m. at the Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Highway 5 N. in Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation will occur at Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 29 with a memorial service to follow at 10 a.m.
