Mr. Leland Ray Jaggers, age 79, of Forrest City, went to his Heavenly Father peacefully, Monday, June 24, 2013, with his family at his side. A native of Piggott, Arkansas, Leland was born August 19, 1933 to Fred and Nettie Vaughn Jaggers. He was a retired counselor from Arkansas Rehabilitation Services and was a member of Fitzgerald Baptist Church. He served his country in the United State Army. Leland married his precious Dorotha Ann Morgan on August 28, 1952. They had four daughters; Sharon Brooks, Sandra Raines, Susan Worley and Shelly Laird. Dorotha preceded him in death after 39 years of a glorious, loving marriage. In 1997, he was blessed again and married Malinda Mooneyham and they have been married for 16 years. This marriage blessed him with a step-son, Martin Mooneyham and a step-daughter, Jantha Kever. Leland had a passion for helping people while working for Arkansas Rehabilitation Services for 28 years. He truly loved his job and the people he tried to help. He was a member of the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association, a National Rehabilitation Association Life member and was Counselor of the year in 1989. He graduated from Piggott High School and later received his Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State College. He went on to attend Arkansas State University and earned a degree of Master of Rehabilitation Counseling. Leland was a devout Christian and instilled his Christian values in his family. He was a deacon and song leader at Emmanuel Baptist Church where he loved to teach Sunday School and sing his heart out. After becoming a member of Fitzgerald Baptist Church, he became a deacon there where he loved to sing praises. He had been a member of the Gideon's Association where he loved to share the gospel. He had worked with the Hospice program and several other organizations doing all he could to help people. We all have cherished memories of Leland's storytelling, jokes, singing, love of working in his flower beds, ministering to everyone he had contact with and his love for his family. We are all grateful that God gave us the gift of knowing and the joy of sharing in his life.
