Thomas E. McDonald
Thomas E. McDonald, 85, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He served in the Coast Guard and the United States Army. Tom's passion was music where he began singing at the age of 5 on his father's radio show, Mac's Melody Hour in Memphis. He was a lifelong choir member in various Methodist Churches, most recently at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. He was a history buff and active in various Scottish Games around the country. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 35 years of dedicated service.
He was a loving and compassionate husband to his surviving wife of 61 years, June Ernestine LeDuke McDonald of Jacksonville. A devoted and dedicated family man, Tom is also survived by two sons, Timothy McDonald (Kristin) of Little Rock and Thomas R. McDonald (Becky) of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Hope and Eric McDonald, Randy McDonald (Rebekah), Jonathan McDonald (Kristin) and Chris McDonald; step-grandson, Cole Walden; great-grandchildren, Kara and Corey McDonald; sister, Jean Tiffin, of Memphis; and two nieces, Carol James and Joy Sutherland. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael K. McDonald.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 6701 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
