James "Jim" Raymond Jameson, 54, of Smackover passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at the John Williamson Hospice House. He was born November 4, 1958, in Smackover to James Richmond Jameson and Joan Yocum Jameson. Jim worked as Director of Public Works for the city of Smackover. He was President of the Arkansas Rural Water Association and a member of the board of directors, assistant fire chief, little league coach, member of the Yocum Deer Club and a member of the Maple Avenue Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and Awanna leader. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Marla Jameson; two sons, Jim Bob Jameson and his wife Leslie, John Jameson all of Smackover; one sister, Sherry Darden and her husband Larry of Vernal, Utah; step-mother, Sue Childers Jameson; mother-in-law, Nada Corley and her husband Henry; father-in-law, Bob McKee and his wife Linda; brother-in-law, Mike McKee and his wife Tamara; step sister-in-law, Susan Smith and her husband Roy; step brother, Philip Childers and his wife Shelly; step sister, Debbie Foot and her husband Charlie; and numerous nieces, nephews and "family by choice". Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Young's. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Maple Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Harrison and Rev. Doug Inzer officiating, Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Crawford, James Langley, Ronnie Thomasson, Glen Thomas, Jerry Langley, Tim Rochel, Tom Trabbic, Brad Newman, and John Mark Walker.
