Catherine Pettus

Our beloved mother and grandmother Catherine McKinize Pettus, 83, of Lonoke went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Irene Williams McKinzie and Fred McKinzie Sr. on October 23, 1929. Catherine was a caring and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, several brothers and a sister. Catherine enjoyed her years at Remington Arms, Inc., serving on the Usher Board Ministry at church, and after retirement enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her family and friends. Cherishing her memory are children Essie Dickerson, Calvin Pettus Jr., Frederick Pettus (Betty), Glenda Pettus Waller, Samuel Pettus (Lydia), Daniel Pettus (Brenda), Kathryn Moragne (Ronald), Donnie Pettus (Neva), Cynthia Pettus Puryear (Kevin), and Pamela Pettus, a brother Fred McKinize Jr., a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend, Mrs. Lois Hemphill. The family will receive friends and extended family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. John Baptist Church, 500 East Palm St., Lonoke. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the same location. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lonoke.
