Mary Elizabeth Coulter Knowles, 72, passed away on March 5, 2013, after a 24-month illness with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ron Knowles of Little Rock; sons, Kenneth Knowles (Janet Inkley) of San Clemente, California, David Knowles (Wendi) of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Berkley Knowles of Oklahoma City; sister, Joan Fisher (Ken) of Cabot, Arkansas; nephew, Michael O'Rourke (Karen) of Rochester Hills, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Pat Arendt (Richard) of Orchard Park, N.Y.; Marge DaRe (Tony) of West Seneca, N.Y.; Cindy Winegarden (Tom) of The Villages, Fla.; and numerous other extended family and special friends living from coast to coast. Mary was born in Buffalo, N.Y. to the late Laverne and Roger Coulter. She attended Bishop Quigley High School in Buffalo and in 1963, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rosary Hill College in Amherst, N.Y.. Prior to her family move to Little Rock, Ark. in 1976, Mary had been employed at the New York Bell Telephone Co. and the Buffalo Public School System. Mary enjoyed family, friends, travel, art galleries, and volunteer library duty at Catholic High School in Little Rock. An avid watercolor hobbyist, she attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and in 1992, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. Mary was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church for 36 years. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at Christ The King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, with Monsignor Francis I. Malone as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monsignor Ebert Endowment Fund at Christ The King Catholic School, 4000 N.
