Nettie Jean Deskins

Friday, March 1st, a life well lived, joined the Heavenly Hosts, when God declared, MISSION COMPLETE! Dr. Nettie Jean Deskins, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, left this earth for her final resting place, safe in the arms of God. Born in Norfolk, Vs., Dr. Deskins, 92, leaves a legacy to her family of love and Wisdom. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Deskins, her children Barbara Ijames, David and Donna Graham. She is also preceded by her granddaughter Kim and great-granddaughter Rakesha. Dr. Deskins leaves to celebrate her life, daughter, Patricia White, also survived by her sister Hazel Royster, grandchildren, Robin Ijames, Vicki (Charles) Bell , Scott A. White III, Kelly (Steve), Gina (Ronnie) James, and grandson, Derrick Ijames. Additionally she leaves to celebrate her transitioning, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and extended family, The Scott White Family of Steelton, Pa. Dr. Deskins life will be celebrated Friday, March 8. 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Awareness Center International Diversity Institute, 900 South Pine Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204. She will lie in state an hour early follow by the Home-Going Celebration at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
