Troy Dell Reid

Troy Dell "Coach" Reid, age 79, of Haskell, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013. He was born November 22, 1933 in Leola, Arkansas. Mr. Reid was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He coached basketball for 38 years at several schools including Kale, Harmony Grove, Glen Rose, Leola, Guy Perkins and Atkins. Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his parents, Nat and Lottie Reid; his best friend and wife of 52 years, Louise "Lucy" Reid; three sisters, Noris West, Natalie Reid and Sally Hawkins and a grandson, William Lee Hall Jr. He is survived by his son, Kevin Reid of Bentonville; daughter, Karla Hall of Haskell and six grandchildren, Jeremy Hall, Natalie Hall, Catherine Reid, Zachary Reid, Kelsie Cox and Evan Cox. Pallbearers will be Edwin Simmons, Jerrel George, Daniel Campbell, Clifton Sheridan, Matt Lee, Pete Cotten, Randy Clift and H.D. Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his former basketball players he coached over the years. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Tulip Cemetery in Tulip, Arkansas. Bro. Ben Palmer will be officiating.
