Raymond G. Arey, 78, of Haskell, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Raymond honored God, and country, and adored his family. Born on December 24, 1934, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda Mitchell Arey; daughter, Jennifer Arey Davis and husband, Robert; son, Jeffrey Arey and wife, Betsy. Five grandchildren are left to cherish his memory: Allen Davis and wife, Lana; Kristen Davis Castleberry and husband, Sean; Jason Davis and wife, Melissa; Jacob Arey, Rachel Arey and five beautiful and beloved great-grandchildren. Also among his survivors are a sister, Wilma Arey Westbrook of Haskell, sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Mitchell Wilson and husband, Troy of Leesburg, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Helen Arey. Raymond graduated from Harmony Grove High School in 1954, served his country in the United States Air Force and attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Raymond owned and operated several businesses; Arey's General Store from 1972 to 1992; Homes 4 U, a mobile home dealership and RGA Properties, a property management company. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton. Always the adventurer, Raymond and Glenda traveled all over the United States creating lifelong memories. He was an avid Razorback fan. He and Glenda traveled many years with great friends as part of the Arkansas Roadhogs. Raymond was a joyful man, who lived life to its fullest. He had a spirit of gentleness although his manner was sometimes gruff. A strong and steady man, he toiled, loved, and dreamed of ways to prove to his family how much they truly meant to him. Raymond was the foundation of his family. Family visitation will be held Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Selph Hall in First Baptist Church, Benton, Arkansas. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Mt.
