Michael K. Phelps

Michael K. Phelps, age 68 of Hot Springs Village passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his home after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 30, 1944 in Memphis, Tenn. to the late Rolla and Alene Phelps. Michael served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. On July 24, 1971 he married Gail Shanabrook in Ft. Smith, Ark. Mr. Phelps worked as a risk manager for St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. He retired in 2008 after 30 years of service. Michael was a member of the Hot Springs Village Razorback Club. He is survived by his wife, Gail of Hot Springs Village; daughter and son in law, Shana and Brandon Tedder of Little Rock; son, Phillip Phelps of Sherwood; two grandchildren, Grace and Emma Tedder of Little Rock; two sister-in-laws, Janet (Keith) Graber of Massillon, Ohio, Jo-Ann Shanabrook of Warren, Ohio; cousins, David Troy, Lynn Jeans, Jean Gray, Tony Troy, and Bill Hale and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Chaplain Sam Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
