Vickie Cheryl Ironside

Mrs. VICKIE CHERYL MAHAN IRONSIDE, 64, was born on Jan. 3, 1949 at Little Rock, Ark. to J.W. and Hazel McGee Mahan, departed from this life on March 14, 2013 in Searcy, Ark. Mrs. Ironside was a member of the Mabelvale Church of Christ where she served as a teacher for 35 years. She enjoyed helping others and spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, grandsons, and lifelong friends. Vickie was also widely known as the "Cookie Lady" at her grandsons' sporting events. She was preceded in death by her father, J.W. Mahan; mother, Hazel Mahan; brother, Stevie; and infant daughter, Charlotte. She is survived by her son, Nathan Ironside and wife Dena of Searcy, Ark.; grandsons, James and Daniel Ironside of Searcy, Ark.; sister, Patsy Free and husband Jack of Rogers, Ark.; and nephews, cousins, and loving relatives and lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials by made in Vicky's name to The Paragould Children's Home, 5515 Walcott Rd., Paragould, Ark. 72450 Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 N., Alexander, Ark.
