David W. Smith

David W. Smith, 89, of Hot Springs died March 12, 2O13. He lived in Hot Springs Village for 23 years where he played golf 3 to 5 times a week. He loved the game, as well as music, dancing, bridge and traveling. Born in Columbus, Ohio and received his Bachelor of Science in Education at Ohio State University. He was a Lieutenant Commander with the United States Navy and flew Naval Air Reserve for 27 years. Dave retired in 1986 from Ohio Casualty Insurance Company after 33 years of service. Survived by his wife, Shirley, three sons, Pat, Mike and Dan and two grandchildren; one stepson, Scott Briggs, his wife Carol, three step-grandsons; one step-great-grandson of Houston, Texas, a stepdaughter, Kym and husband David Briggs from Fort Worth, Texas. Dave's wonderful sense of humor and caring spirit will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Dave is a Genesis Donor. Memorial service pending,
