Bennett Alexander Clubbs, Jr. died at his home in Little Rock on Wednesday March 13, 2013. He was born on February 11, 1941 in Panama City, Florida to Bennett Clubbs, Sr. and Rosalie Davis Clubbs. Bennett moved to Pine Bluff in 1958 and graduated from Pine Bluff High. He attended the University of Arkansas. He briefly taught Algebra at Bentonville High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. During his years in the Navy, he was stationed in Puerto Rico and the Philippines. After his years of service in the Navy, he made Pine Bluff his home. He worked as an electrician for the Cotton Belt Railroad from 1972-2002. Bennett will always be remembered for his keen sense of humor, his love of word origins, math problems, random trivia, and unrelenting emails. Survivors include his daughters Erika Clubbs Breshears (Broek) of Rogers, and Kristin Clubbs Thomas (Darin) of Little Rock. He also had five grandchildren Drake Breshears, Ashton Breshears, Alexa Nolen, Brooke Sallee (Matt), Baylee Stewart (Josh); and one great-granddaughter, Kenadee. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Dr. Roger Clubbs; sister, Peggy Ligon; and his step-mother, Eloise Clubbs. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal, 703 W. 3rd Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, with Reverend Van Windsor officiating. Visitation will be immediately after the service. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300.
