Marrice Edward Jackson

March 16, 2013, Marrice Edward Jackson, 91, of Greenville, Mississippi passed peacefully from this earthly world to be with the Lord. Marrice was born August 3, 1921 to Homer Boyd and Myrtle (Hill) Jackson in Bethlehem, Arkansas. Marrice was in the United States Navy from 1942–1945 during World War II, serving in the North Atlantic aboard the U.S.S. Card. While in the military he met and married Mabel Browning in July of 1944. They had three children together and lived in Southern California. They later divorced and he then married Carolyn (Gray) Glover which added two more children to his family. They resided in Ward, Arkansas until 2010 when health problems caused them to move to Greenville, Mississippi. Marrice worked as a carbide fabricator for Daily Saw Service in South Gate, California for over 25 years. After moving to Arkansas in 1977 he continued with his own saw sharpening business. He and Carolyn also worked growing produce and flowers for the River Market in Little Rock, Arkansas. Marrice was very involved in community activities both in California and Arkansas. He loved service to others young and old alike. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Myrtle Jackson; brothers Clifford, Ralph, Ray; and his sister Lucille, all living in California; and son-in-law Richard Fesler of Utah. Marrice is survived by his wife Carolyn, Greenville, Mississippi; daughters Patricia Fesler, Hurricane, Utah and Barbara Joyce (Robert), Bakersfield, California; sons Kenneth Jackson, Bakersfield, California and Donnie (Lora) Glover, Greenville, Mississippi; daughter Gwyn (Geary) Pope, Springdale, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother Homer (Eloise) Jackson Jr., Hemet, California; sister, Clarrice (Bob) Campbell, Louisville, Kentucky; and his first wife Mabel Jackson, Bakersfield, California. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, Arkansas. A second viewing will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. service at Country Chapel in Ward, Arkansas. Burial will be in Sylvania Cemetery.
