Patsy Evans Thurman

On March 19, 2013 PATSY EVANS THURMAN, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She bravely fought the unrelenting ravages of Parkinson's disease. She was born at Pine Bluff in 1931 to Walter Raleigh and Mattie T. Evans. She enjoyed 82 trips around the sun. Patsy loved her work. She was with the Arkansas Symphony from 1978 to 1985. She became personal friends with several well known celebrities while bringing culture to the humble state of Arkansas. Once she finished her work with the Symphony, Patsy gave her time to Radiology Consultants from 1985 until 1992 then with Baptist Breast Center from 1992 til 2009. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her son, Walter (Becky) and daughter Ellen, both of Little Rock; by her sister Laverne, and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Don. She was the best Mom ever. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, 1 p.m., March 29, 2013 at Hawley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1575 Ridgeway Rd., Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603, officiated by Rev. Jackie Ann Gregory.
