LOWELL E. ALDERMAN, 82, of North Little Rock, Ark. passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was born March 7, 1931 in Bradenton, Fla. to Anderson and Lanora Alderman. Mr. Alderman was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them outdoors; in fact, when the family would move across the country, following Air Force orders, they would camp along the way! He also liked to tinker with electronics and was a skilled carpenter. Some of his most favorite times were spent on the water. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years as a technical sergeant. After retirement he became very active in the North Little Rock Senior Center, and was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jewell Maxine Alderman. Cherishing his memory are his children, Susie Russ and her husband Rick Russ of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Donald Alderman of Sherwood, and Andrea Vander Lugt and her husband Roger A. Vander Lugt of Sherwood; two brothers; Anderson R. "Rudy" Alderman and his wife Jane Alderman, and Thomas Alderman and his wife Sharon Alderman; niece, Christine Prouty; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and special friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church of North Little Rock with Bro. Jeff Hulsizer officiating. Burial will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to any veteran's organization. The online obituary, guestbook, and memorial tribute are available at www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
