Dorothy Hern Scarlett

Dorothy Hern Scarlett, 90, of Fordyce died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. She was born March 21, 1923 in Holly Springs, Arkansas. Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fordyce where she had worked in the nursery department for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Bertie Moffett Hern; husband, Pat Scarlett; daughter, Patty Bodge; and grandson, Kraig Bodge. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Joe Bill Meador of Fordyce; son-in-law, Jim Bodge of Hot Springs Village; three grandchildren, Kristy Bodge of Bryant, Scarlett Barnes of Batesville, Mark Meador of Little Rock; and three great grandchildren, Spencer and Sumner Barnes of Batesville and Alex Meador of Little Rock. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church 104 East 4th Fordyce, Ark. 71742. Visitation will be Wednesday 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Cato and Rev. Stacy Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce.
