Alline Philips Peters of Searcy, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 28., 2013. She was born in Penelope, Texas to William Jesse and Florence Thomas Philips. In addition to her parents, Alline was preceded in death by her husband, Sam B. Peters of 65 years. Alline was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. William P. Philips, Marvin F. Philips, Audrey Philips and Hubert D. Philips all of Texas. She is survived by a son, Philip D. (Leslie) Peters of Olney, Maryland and a daughter, Phyllis J. Holston (Dr. John S. Holston) of Searcy; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She attended public schools at Waco, Texas and received a B.S. In home economics from Texas Women's University and a Master's in Education from Ouachita Baptist University. She worked for many years as a dietician at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. After retirement, she was very active in the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and served on their board for many years. She had many talents and hobbies and used them in her service to her Lord and Savior and was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. On May 18, 2005 Sam and Alline moved to Searcy, Arkansas to be near their daughter Phyllis. They became a part of the Harding Place Retirement Community and joined First Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class. Her family would like to express thanks to Pastor Brian Whitney, Clay Vire and the staff of First Baptist Church, Randy and Sandy Reynolds and the staff of Harding Place, Home Instead staff, and Jimmy Wesley for all their many kindnesses. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Reid Thomas, White County Medical Center, the staff of 2 North, and the Hospice Home Care Staff for their compassionate care during her last days. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Operation Christmas Child (www.samaritanspurse.org) or Friends For Life Medical here in Searcy, Arkansas. Grave Side Services Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, Arkansas.
