Helen Tigar Puckett

Helen Tigar Puckett was born on September 7, 1928 in Muncie, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Henry Tigar and Ruth Justus Tigar, and her sister Elizabeth Tigar South from Poughkeepsie, New York. Her step-sister Betty Hackman lives in Sanford, North Carolina. Helen is the Mother of three boys. Paul M. Puckett and his wife Katherine from Lake Jackson, Texas. They have two daughters, Lauren and Regan. Steve N. Puckett and his wife, Kay, make Millington, Tennessee their home. Steve is the father of Jessica, Justin, and Joseph, and three grandchildren, Breanna, Adam and Lydia. Jeffery T. Puckett and his wife Paula, live in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Helen enjoyed being with people and spent many hours volunteering. Haven House gave Helen an opportunity to share her experiences with other women. She was also a member of Haven House Board of Directors. Helen spent many hours volunteering in the Cleburne County Cares' office where she was constantly reminded of the phrase, "walk in another's shoes". As a facilitator for "Beginning Experience", Christian weekend retreats in Little Rock dealing with grief and loss, Helen was able to mentor and share the love of God and the Bible with others. Helen enjoyed giving her time to the Methodist Boy's Home. Her interactions with the young men gave Helen an opportunity to pass her knowledge of Christ to the next generation. Helen was an active member of the Cleburne County Republican Committee. She was a staunch defender of the Constitution and Freedom. In 2013, Helen was presented with the 11th Annual Larry Smith Award for service, support and dedication to Republican principles. The greatest joy and love of Helen's life were the lessons of the New Testament and coming to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Helen joined the Lord at 85 on September 26, 2013. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any organizations in which Helen gave her time. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Family Funeral Service, 100 West Searcy Street in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be at the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs, 1099 West Pine Street, on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. by Rev. Tommy Toombs.
