Homer Dean Almond, 61, formerly of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, Sep.28th, 2013 in Arlington, Va. He was born June 30th, 1952, in Little Rock to the late Ruth and Homer Almond. Dean, as most people knew him, was of the Baptist faith and attended Jerusalem Baptist Church in Fairfax, Va. He loved God, America and the simpler things in life. He was always a hard working man; starting from the young age of 14 on a dairy farm in Batesville where he spent his childhood and later in life working for Almond Delivery Service for nearly 25 years in Little Rock. Dean always put others before himself and was never selfish even to the end. He was truly a man with a heart of gold and loved many things such as writing, music and keeping up with the horses. But most of all he loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Brenda Kaye Almond; son and wife, Chris and Vivian Almond; daughter and husband, Katy and Robert Martinez; twovgranddaughters, Sabrina Almond and Lilyana Martinez along with his 2 sisters and their husbands, Pat and Tom Bartlet and their one son, and Carol and Mike Hurst and their one son and one daughter. Funeral Service will be held October 2, 2013 at 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Va. 22032 at 10 a.m., burial to follow immediately after at Fairfax Memorial Park. www.fmfh.com.
