Clinton "Pop" C. Sanders, age 84, of Malvern passed away Monday, September 30 at his home. He was born April 2, 1929, in Bismarck, the son of the late Nathan Holland and Junia Alaska Hobgood Sanders. Clinton graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1948, received his Batchelor's degree in Education from Henderson State University and received his Master's degree in Education from East Texas State. Clinton taught at Malvern High School for 27 years, was in the United States Army, enjoyed gardening, music, teaching and served as Dorm Dad at Ouachita Baptist University for 15 years. He was also a member of Third Baptist Church in Malvern. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Elster Sanders and Vernon Sanders; sisters, Vera Sanders, Velma Adcock and Freda Wheeler. Left to cherish his memory, wife, whom he married May 31, 1953, Agga Mae Sanders; son, David Overton Sanders and wife, Melinda; grandchildren, Rachel Sanders, Cole Sanders, CaLynn, Courtney and Kinzey Blacklock; sisters, Oleta Moore of Bethany, Oklahoma and Lois Sanders of Hot Springs and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, October 3 at 10 a.m. at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Tom Strike, Reverend Bob Sanders and Cole Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Bob Myrick, Jim Paul Franks, C.M. Phillips, Hamp Williamson, John Frisby and W.J. Brumley Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Hospice Home Care Nurses and Staff. Memorials can be made to Hospice Home Care. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
