Bettye Ann Robinson, 79, a resident of White Hall, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 30, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born December 6, 1933, in Wabbaseka, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Aretta Freeman Cockrell. Mrs. Robinson grew up and received her education in Wabbaseka. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord and had a sign on her front door that said, "God's Word is my Strength". She enjoyed being outside, manicuring her lawn, raising roses, flowers, and a vegetable garden. Also she was a great cook. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, and she insisted on doing all the cooking herself. Being very patriotic, she flew an American flag from a flagpole, moving it from Jasper, where she had previously lived. She also loved her dogs Bo and Sadie and her cats Simon and Brandy. Preceding her in death were her parents, one son, and five brothers: Bruce Cockrell, H.F. Cockrell, Marvin Cockrell, John F. Cockrell, and George Cockrell, all of Arkansas. Survivors include her son, Eddie Robinson and his wife, Dolores, of White Hall; sisters Pam Conner and her husband, George, Patricia Lester, and Judy Raddle and her husband, Mark, all of Pine Bluff, and Sarah White of Louisiana, Carolyn Chisum of North Little Rock, and Donna Loftis of California; and brothers, Wheeler Cockrell and his wife, Sheila, David Cockrell and his wife, Lucy, all of Pine Bluff, Hugh Cockrell and his wife, Bessie, of White Hall, and Stanley Cockrell and his wife, Helen, of Virginia, and her nephew, Jeff Cockrell, of Bauxite, who was very special to her. Visitation is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Reverend Glen Flemmons officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Bayou Cemetery near Altheimer.
