Richard E. Brown

Richard E. Brown, 85 of Fayetteville, Ark. passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in Fayetteville. He was born May 6, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Joseph E. Brown and Mary Eleanor (Reigel) Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from the U.S. Forest Service, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and attended Peaceful Valley Bible Church in Springdale. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Floyd Ellsworth Brown, and wife Ella Joy Chesteen Brown. He is survived by one son, Richard E. Brown, Jr. and wife Dottie of Fayetteville, one daughter, Barbara DeBuys and husband Pete of Atlanta, Ga., two grandchildren Sarah Elisabeth Ross (Chris) and Richard Andrew Brown (Carrie), and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3rd from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 4th with Pastor Bill Pettigrew officiating. A graveside committal service with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, October 5th at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla. Father Patrick Bright of All Souls Episcopal Church will officiate.
