Robert "Bob" Eugene Holbrook, 44, of Bigelow, Ark., succumbed to his two year battle with metastatic colon cancer at home surrounded by his family on October 2, 2013. Bob was born on August 11, 1969 in Bakersfield, Calif. to Gene and Gale Holbrook. Bob was married on September 12, 1998 to Jennifer (Staton) Holbrook. Bob was a loving son, husband, father and friend to all. Bob is a graduate of Bigelow High School in 1987 and a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where he obtained a finance degree in 1991. Bob worked at Green Bay Packaging Arkansas Kraft as a Millwright for the past 15 years, but his love and passion was cattle farming. Bob continued to work throughout his cancer treatment until September 6, 2013 when he was forced to stop due to his illness. Bob loved baseball and coached his son's baseball team since Staton started playing at an early age. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Morrilton. He was the vice-president of the Bigelow Ball Association, a member of the Cattlemen's Association, a member of the United Steelworker's 13-1965 Union, and a member of the Carpenter's and Millwright's Union. Bob is survived by his wife Jennifer of 15 years; daughter, Lauren Holbrook age 13; son Staton Holbrook age 12; parents Gene and Gale Holbrook; sister Loretta Akridge; brothers Dale and Michael Holbrook; grandparents Don and Thelda Rummel of Orville, California, and many other nieces and nephews and extended family. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleon and Stella Ackley of Woodland, California and John and Marie Holbrook of Perryville. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home located at 118 S. Moose St. in Morrilton, Ark. on Sunday, October 6th. Funeral services for Bob will be at First United Methodist Church located at 201 S. Chestnut St. in Morrilton, Ark. on Monday, October 7th at 1 p.m. Bob will be laid to rest under the large oak trees at the Holbrook Family Cemetery located at 358 Cherry Hill Loop in Perryville, Ark.
