Phillip Eugene Johnson, 57, of Beebe, died Saturday, October 5, 2013. Phil was born November 1, 1955 in Grinnell, Iowa. He is preceded in death by parents Gene Johnson and Ruth Phipps and husband Bill, all from Grinnell, Iowa, and his grandparents. Phil was a compassionate and very caring man. His wonderful smile was infectious, along with his positive attitude and love for life. His personality was outstanding and his wisdom was infinite. Phil loved to garden, fish, camp, bird watch, watch the sun rise, and followed the Green Bay Packers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the US Army. Phil set a good example of what all good men should be. Phil lost touch with his high school sweetheart, Nancy Walters, but reunited with her and married her seven years ago. He is also survived by children, Jenny Johnson (Jaime), Jerry Terrell (Marybeth), Josh Johnson (Jaime), Jessie Moyers (Steve), Stephanie Robbins (James), Kelly Kilbury (Brandon), and Brad Kilbury (Maegan); 17 grandchildren; brother, Bruce Johnson (Mischel) of Ira, Iowa and sister, Connie Lakin (Larry) of Newton, Iowa; mother-in-law, JoAnn Walters of El Paso, sisters-in-law, Carli Zygowicz (Stan) of Belvidere, Ill., Cathy Hill (JD) of El Paso, Ark., and Pam Howard (Jack) of Sherwood; brother-in-law, Bill Walters of Bentonville; 13 nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Tess. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W. Main St., Jacksonville.
