Ulyses Baker of Little Rock was called home Oct. 3, 2013. Ulyses served his country honorably during the Korean War and was proud to be a veteran. He worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital for 33 years and went back to serve as a volunteer after his retirement. Survivors include: his wife of almost 59 years, Murline; nine children, Bobby (Joyce) Baker, Shirley Baker, Billie Baker, Diane Johnson, Linda (Eddie) Mackey, Cassandra Blackwell, Beverly Smith, Andrea (Nathan) Roy and Corissa Baker as well as 6 brothers; four sisters; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Ulyses was preceded in death by both of his parents, Joe and Anice Baker, Sr.; and one brother, Joe Baker Jr. Home going services will be Friday, October 11, 2013, 11 a.m. Interment will follow with honors at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave., NLR, Ark. Viewing: Thursday, October 10, 2013, 12-5 p.m., both services at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester St., LR (501) 372-1305.
