John C. Woodie, Jr., 77, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 in Helena, Arkansas. Mr Woodie was born December 3, 1935 at Warren, Arkansas to the late John C. and Nettie Gardner Woodie. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a former high school coach and principal. Mr. Woodie is survived by his wife, Jane Woodie of West Helena; two sons, James Woodie of Little Rock, Arkansas and John Woodie of Richmond Hill, Georgia; five grandchildren, Samuel Woodie, Tanner Woodie, Ryan Woodie, Caroline Woodie and Nicholas Woodie; three sisters, Betty Joe (Clyde) Temple of Warren, Arkansas, Nancy Amidon of Hickory, North Carolina and Mary Woodie of Houston, Texas; and one brother, Walter (Anita) Woodie of Star City, Arkansas. Graveside services for John C. Woodie Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Pallbearers are John Woodie, James Woodie, Ryan Woodie, Walter Woodie, Samuel Woodie, and Richard Thompson.
