Tami Hunter Watson

Tami Hunter Watson, 46, of Rison, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Pine Bluff. She was born February 16, 1967 in Pine Bluff, daughter of Harry "Danny" Hunter and the late Laura Nell Burns. Tami was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. She eventually joined the United States Navy. Tami continued her service to her country after her Honorable Discharge from the Navy by working as a Veterans Service Officer in Cleveland County. She loved photography and scrapbooking and Tami spent countless hours creating memories for herself and others. She was preceded in death by her mother; maternal and paternal grandparents, James D. Burns, Pauline and Dwight Robinson and Harry M. and Clara Hunter. Survivors include her loving husband, Carl Obie "mo" Watson, whom she married May 16, 2003 in Pine Bluff; three sons, Christopher Herron who is currently serving in Afghanistan, Kyle Herron and Devin Herron, both of Rison; step-son, Galen Watson of Pine Bluff; two step-daughters, Nikki Watson of White Hall and Nikki Barnum of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her father, Danny Hunter of Rison; aunt who was like a sister to Tami, Ruth Johnston and Uncle Mike Johnston of Little Rock; Uncle Kenneth and Aunt Shirley Hunter of Star City; Aunt Becky and Uncle Greg Clark of Little Rock; many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tami is also survived by countless sports, band and Army moms, scrapbook sisters and friends. A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Greenlee Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. The family has requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32256; American Red Cross Jefferson County Chapter, 211 West Third Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601; or Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency, 1701 Aldersgate Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
