Maudie Ann Northup

Maudie Ann Northup, 61, of Benton passed October 9, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospital. She was born September 26, 1952 in Monroe, Arkansas. Ann attended the Arkansas School for the Deaf and was very active in the Deaf Community. She was currently serving as the president of the Arkansas Deaf Blind Club. Ann was known for her fun loving nature, loud laugh, and baking sweets. She loved to eat and always knew the newest place to go. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl and Maudie Hicks of Brinkley. Survivors, daughters, Jennifer Northup and grandson, Jacob Wilhite of Benton, Karen Owens and husband, Chris of Little Rock, brothers, Donald Earl Hicks and wife, Mittie of Henderson, Nevada, Richard Hicks and wife, Melisa of Clanton, Alabama, William Hicks and wife, Carolyn of Brinkley, Wayne Hicks and wife, Renee of Augusta, Georgia, Allen Lewis and wife, Rheda of Brinkley and sister, Susie Hicks of Wynne, Arkansas. A celebration of life will be held at Little Rock Association of the Deaf on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at 9005 Lew Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209. Ann was loved by her daughters, grandson, many family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by many. Cremation was through Ashby Funeral Home of Benton.
