Dorothy Clorene Swanis

Dorothy Clorene Swanis, 94, of Little Rock passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Clorene was born in Roland, Arkansas on May 4, 1919, the daughter of Dexter and Lena Brazil. She graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School and married Albert Swanis on July 8, 1939. She worked for Federal Signal Company in Blue Island, IL for many years, retiring and returning to Little Rock in 1985. Clorene enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking for family gatherings and visiting with her dogs. Clorene was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Swanis; brothers Andrew Brazil and Kenneth Brazil and sister Marjorie Brazil. She is survived by her sister Mary Thompson of Little Rock, sons Wayne Swanis of Las Vegas and David Swanis of Denver, Colorado, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 13th at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
