Ruby Lee Jones

Ruby Lee Gunter Jones, 84, of Carthage, died Friday Oct. 11, 2013 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. Born March 29, 1929 in Dallas County, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Annie Bell Gunter. She was a member of Lea's Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Jones; a daughter, Florence Marie Gunter, along with her extended family Joe and Kyle Kauffman and Linda Brent. She is survived by her son, Louis Gunter of Carthage; sister, Shuvella Mae Miller of Chicago, lll; four grandchildren, Shederick Gunter (Charlene), Letitia Walker Johnson (Carlos), Chastity Clegg, Alisha Gunter; eight great-grandchildren, Marquis Walker, Jalen Gunter, Makayla Banks, Jaidyn Gunter, Khalen Gunter, Marlena Hicks, Sentori Martino, Jahvari Martino; one great-great grandchild, Jauzlyn Ware; her extended family, Jackie Brent of Fordyce and his sons Clark Brent (Penny) and Stuart Brent (Debra) and Jackie's grandchildren, Jack, Haden, and Ryan Brent, Becky Kauffman of Fordyce and her children, Kevin Kauffman (Melanie) and Kasey Langley and Becky's grandchildren, Justin and Kayla Langley, and step-grandchildren, Ryan and Anna Claire Tutor. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lea's Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Mattie Forte officiating.
