Mary "Gail" Louise Pegram, age 74, departed this life on the 10th day of October 2013. She was born to the late Thomas & Lydia McDowell in Cato, Arkansas. "Gail" as many called her, graduated 1963 from AM&N with a bachelor degree in science. Gail went on to work for the State of Arkansas, where after thirty-one years of service, she retired in 2005. She had a special love for children and would volunteer her time at Redeemed for Christ childcare center until she became ill. Gail served as a member of the Knights of Peter Claver and the Catholic Daughters of America. She will always be remembered as a loving, kind, giving and devoted catholic. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard McDowell and nephew, Braylon Gray. She leaves to cherish her many memories her two loving children, John W. Pegram, Jr. & Michele Pegram; five siblings Tommy McDowell, Clifton McDowell, Martha Gray, Verna Lean Moore, and Clara Tate; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Pegram, Christopher Pegram, and Zoe Pegram; two special great-grandchildren, London Jamisen Sabb and Christopher Pegram, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews and relatives, as well as her near and dear friend, Lillie Jackson. Services will be held at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1321 Van Buren, Little Rock on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. The burial will follow at Mount Valley Cemetery in Cato, Arkansas. The rosary will be held at Premier Funeral Home, 1528 S. Battery Street, Little Rock 72202 on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 6 p.m. The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support during this time. Your prayers, visits, telephone calls, cards, and all other expressions of sympathy truly have uplifted us. A special thanks to the secretarial staff & clergy at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Dr. Balan Nair and the staff at Little Rock Hematology Oncology Clinic for their assistance during her illness, and also to the Catholic Daughters opf America & the Knights Of Peter Claver for their generosity and hospitality.
