Funeral services for Mrs. Mavene Haynes Atkinson, age 84, will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the Fairview United Methodist Church, Camden, Ark., with Rev. Allen Crum and Rev. Pam Brule` officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 pm in the Western Cemetery, Emerson, Ark. under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, La. Mrs. Atkinson, a longtime resident of Camden, was born on July 28, 1929 to Michael Dixon and Carlyn Mayfield Haynes Jr. in Shongaloo, La. and passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 in Camden. She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and was retired from Merchant and Planters Bank. Mrs. Atkinson loved her flowers, cooking, fishing and camping. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Ray Atkinson; daughter, Freida McAteer and husband, Ron of Ashdown, Ark.; son, Mickey Wise and wife, Elaine of Shongaloo, La.; six grandchildren, John Ross McKinney and wife, Aimee of Texarkana, AR, Shane McAteer of Camden, Ark., Deronda Kendrick of Minden, La., Brian Wise of Springhill, La., Mark Atkinson and wife, Marilyn of Searcy, Ark., Sharon Wilson and husband, Mike of Camden, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madge Mobley of Shreveport, La., Diane Smith and husband, Lamar of Springhill, La.; sister-in-law, Linda Haynes of Shongaloo, La. and numerous nieces and nephews.
