Eula Mae Brown

On Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 Heaven's gates opened wide and welcomed Eula Mae Frisby, 90, of Hot Springs, formerly a longtime resident of Pine Bluff. Born June 6, 1923, in Bauxite, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Roy R. and Bernice Edwards Brown. She was reared and received her education in Bauxite, graduating from Bauxite High School in 1942. She loved her hometown of Bauxite and returned annually to the Bauxite Reunions. In June of 1942, she married Huie Ellis Frisby. Together they had two daughters and shared over sixty-seven years of marriage, love and memories, until he passed away in 2009. Mrs. Frisby was a Bank Teller for Simmons First National for over 23 years retiring in 1983. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff serving as a substitute Sunday school teacher in senior adult department and active in the Choir and Ukulele Band. In 2000, she and her husband moved to Hot Springs to be closer to their family and enjoy their time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became active in the First Baptist Church Ukulele Band. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Huie Frisby, brothers, Roy "Candy" Brown & Don Brown, her sisters, Vicky Shults, Ella Owens Moore, & Gracie Fulford, a grandson, Barrett Vance and son-in-law Randy Vance. Survivors include her two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley & Charles Powers, and Sandra Vance, all of Hot Springs; her three grandchildren, Charles "Chuck" Powers, and Michelle, of Little Rock, Gary Don Powers, of Hot Springs, and Amanda Proffitt, and Glenn, of Little Rock; her five great-grandchildren, Mary Kate, Kennedy & Landon Powers and Emily & Zachary Proffitt; and her two sisters, Lucy Alley, of Bryant, and Neva Dohner, of San Diego, California. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Don Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour before the service at Robinson's. Burial will be private. Friends may sign the online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
