Richard Summers, 59, of Conway passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Saturday, Feb. 6, 1954 in Russellville, Ark. to the late Roy Summers and Polly (Eubanks) Summers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Breck Summers. He is survived by his son, Kent Summers and wife Alli; daughter, Sierra Summers; four grandchildren, Josie Mae Summers, Henry Kent Summers, Scarlett Elm Summers, and Hayes Vancura Henry; and special friends, Mike Patrick, Johnny Hooper, and Dot Bonner. Richard was an avid hunter, fisherman, and conservationist, who shared his loved of the outdoors with many. He was also a father figure to many – always providing comfort and guidance to those he loved. His convictions for what was right, and strength to stand by them will never be forgotten. He was a man of strong faith and integrity, who took any opportunity to spread God's word. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Conway, where the services will be held. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Central Baptist Church, Conway with Brother Mike Lefler officiating. Burial will follow at Bells Chapel Cemetery in Atkins with Cody Webb, Johnny Hooper, John Hinds, Mike Patricks, Breck Summers, Jacob Summers, Donn Summers, and Kent Summers serving as pallbearers.
