Dewayne Donaldson, 78 of Star City died Tuesday at his home. He was born October 13, 1935 in Little Garnett to the late Guy and Ida Mae Whitten Donaldson. He was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church at Watson Chapel, retired heavy equipment operator for Brown & Root, retired livestock and produce dealer and also owner of Donaldson Truck, Trailer and ATV Sales, 32nd Degree Mason, member of Jefferson County Mounted Patrol and numerous riding clubs. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Donaldson. Survivors include his companion of 30 years, Jean Davis of Star City; four sons, Roger (Tressia) Donaldson of Monticello, Ricky Donaldson of Hot Springs, Jimmy Donaldson of Pine Bluff and Randy Donaldson of Star City; one stepson, Michael Davis of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Beverly Owens of Pine Bluff; two stepdaughters, Cynthia (Danny) Onstott of Cabot and Carol Anne Chisom of Monticello; one sister, Merene (Charles) Russell of Beulah, Miss.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Billy West and Bro. J.C. Patterson officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
