Elizabeth Ann Coker, 80, died October 18, 2013. She was born January 1, 1933 in Warren, Arkansas to Hugh Tate Mitchell and Virginia Elizabeth Vetter (both deceased). She married Kenneth Eugene Coker (deceased 08/22/13) and was the mother of Nancy (deceased), Kenneth, Daniel and LyNan. Her educational endeavors included a B.S. in Business Administration, Oklahoma City University, 1981, A.A.S in Modern Languages in Spanish, Oklahoma City Community College, 1980, Laubach Literacy Action Tutor Certificate, 1987, Computer Programming, C.I.P.C, El Salvador, Central America, 1975, Nursing Courses, Missionary Nursing, Wesley Roberts Deaconess School, 1955, and Secretarial Sciences, Draughons School of Business, Little Rock, AR, 1951. She enjoyed a distinguished career as Immigration Consultant, Assistant Director of the Hispanic American Mission; Board of Immigration Appeals; Accredited Representative at the Hispanic American Mission 1983-2013; Hispanic Cultural Center; Missionary Work, El Salvador, four years, Guatemala, five years, Navajo Indians in New Mexico, five years; and legal work. She was the recipient of many honors and awards, including Certificate of Appreciation, Dallas District Office, United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, 1988, Certificate of Appreciation, State Legalization Impact Assistance Grants Program, 1990, Honorary Mayor, Governor's Commendation, 1996, Honorary Citizen of the State of Oklahoma by Governor James Keating, 1997, Meritorious Public Service Award, U.S. Supreme Court, Washington, D.C., 2003, Special Recognition Award, Latinos, Immigration and Civil Service, 2003, Woman of the Year, American Biographical Institute, 2009,The Latin American Who's Who, 2010, and Cinco de Mayo Award. Her personal philosophy was honesty, hard work, love for Christ and love for others. Services to honor Elizabeth will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 7301 S.
