Edsel D. Weaver, 80, of Mountain Home, Arkansas died Thursday, October 24, 2013. Born July 30, 1933 in Charlotte, Arkansas, he was the son of T. H. and Susie Weaver. He attended Beebe Junior College where he was a member of the basketball team before spending three years in Korea serving in the U S Army. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he continued his education at Arkansas State Teacher's College where he graduated in 1958. After a 21 year coaching career, he obtained his administrative degree and became a school superintendent until his retirement in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Naomi "Nan" Weaver of Mountain Home; a son, Eddie (Kim) Weaver of Benton, Arkansas; a daughter, Leslie (Michael) Vawter of Mountain Home; five grandchildren, Alexandria Weaver Duffield, Ross Weaver, Peyton Weaver, Jon Vawter, and Katie Vawter; three sisters, Jean Pennell of Augusta, Georgia, Ben Dean Malone of Memphis, Tennessee, and Sandy (Wilson) Holman of Charlotte; several nieces and nephews; and many students and ballplayers from his years as a coach and administrator. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn Weaver; and a nephew, Perry Weaver. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville. Burial will be at Charlotte Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Chapter American Parkinson Disease Association, P.O.
