Marvel Ann Middaugh

Marvel Ann Middaugh, 91, of Van Buren passed away Aug. 29, 2013. Marvel was born on April 11, 1922 in Cowles, Neb. Marvel grew up impoverished in a time when so many had so little. She learned to survive through charm, focus, and sheer force of will. Marvel married Guy right out of high school and never left his side till his death over fifty years later. She raised five successful children: an accomplished state senator, a decorated Marine Corps officer, a real estate investor and a pair of physicians. However, to this day, I remain most impressed by her effort with the many foster children she managed to nurture, protect, and "just" be a mom for time after time. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark.
