William Paul Christiansen, 77, of Hot Springs Village, Ark. died Aug. 27, 2013. He was born Aug. 4, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa. He moved to Michigan in 1955 and graduated from General Motors Institute (GMI) in Flint, Mich., in 1958. Chris (as he is known by family and friends) spent 38 years with GM, most of those at the Tech Center in Warren, Mich. He was a Certified Professional Engineer, member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet Nancy Poe; sister, Joyce Sheldon (George); four children, Kevin Paul (Jackie), Karen Lynn, Mark Allen and Michael David (Virginia); six grandchildren, Keith, Emily, Kelly, Amanda, Katherine and Keagan; and niece, Christine King (Ron). Chris was very involved with ice hockey (player/coach/referee), Boy Scouts (troop leader) and was an avid outdoorsman. As a Hot Springs Village resident for the past 20 years, he took great pleasure in retirement enjoying golfing, nature, shooting sports; and as a member of the MVSA (Mountain Valley Sportsman's Association) and the NRA. His passions included Republican politics (EIB enthusiast) and Military History. Chris will be dearly missed.
