Kelly Kay Carter, 51, passed from this life on Saturday, August 31st, 2013. Kelly was born March 6, 1962 in Dallas, Texas, to Joe and Nancy Lett Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her loving brother, Joe Carter and wife Karen of Little Rock, Ark., a sister, Allison Carter Bednar and husband Randy of Slovak, Ark, one special Aunt, Martha Carter Taylor, cousin and special friend Jacob Taylor, two nephews, Luke and Joe Carter who held a special place in her heart from the moment they arrived on this earth, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that stood by her throughout her life. Kelly attended Mount Saint Mary's in Little Rock and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1980. She continued her education at The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. While there she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and a Sigma Nu Little Sis. Kelly made her debut in the fall 1980 in Hot Springs Ark. After leaving college she worked within the Little Rock court system mentoring to juveniles in need. She was active in the Little Rock Junior League and Chamber of Commerce during that time. She then left Little Rock for Mobile, Ala. and began a career in retail, where she got a chance to show her fashion sense as Merchandiser for Parisian Department Stores. After several years away and the arrival of her nephews she returned home to Little Rock and began another promising career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she made many special friends she cherished and loved. Visitation will be Friday, September 6, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211. (501) 224-8300. A funeral service will be at 10 on Saturday, September 7, in the Chapel of Roller Chenal Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
