Virginia West Poole

Mrs. Virginia West Poole, age 86, of Forrest City, died Wednesday at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis. She had been in poor health for the past several months. Mrs. Poole was born June 23, 1927, in Widener, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Robert Clay West and Kathleen Louise Johnson West. She lived in Forrest City most of her life, was retired from the St. Francis County Assessor's Office after thirty-nine years of service. She was a member of the Wayside Garden Gate Club, Musical Coterie, and Happy Dayers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City where she enjoyed various other senior activities, especially group trips that she often helped organize. Mrs. Poole married Charles Henry Jones Jr. in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1953. She married Ray Thompson Poole in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by one son, Larry Jones, and wife Rosemary, of Forrest City, one daughter, Linda Jones Story, and husband, Ben, of Forrest City, two sisters; Alice Wilson of Junction City, Louisiana, and Barbara Price of Las Cruces, New Mexico, six grandchildren; Ginadell, Jeff, Allison, Joe, Emily, and Bentley, and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Peyton, and Eli. She had one daughter, Joyce Ann Jones, who preceded her in death. Services for Mrs. Poole will be held at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City, 2 p.m. Sunday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
